"My favourite hotel in the world"
My wife and I spent three nights at Driftwood on Nov 2017 and it's our fourth stay. There is no one thing that makes this hotel so amazing, it is simply a cocktail of wonderfulness. The rooms are very good, the food is absolutely fabulous, the service is great, the views across the sea are calming, the walks along the beaches & coast path from the hotel door are invigorating and the pre-dinner beer in the pub in Portscatho seems like the best ever (and the walk along the beach to get there is a treat in itself).Extract from Trip Advisor,
Our stay was amazing. The food was the best food I’ve ever eaten. Would like to say a big thank you to all the staff in particular guy, Stewart and Chris and his team. If there was any room for improvement it would be the cooked breakfast in the morning. The buffet however was also stunning. Our room was very well present and had a lovely view from the window. The bed was soooooo comfy and room wasn’t too hot or too cold. Had an amazing stay thank you.Extract from Trip Advisor,

"So special, every time"
Thank you to the entire team for a wonderful 6-night stay at Driftwood. The reception and office team, the housekeeping team, the restaurant and sommelier team, and the kitchen team, were all excellent. The whole team are consistent in their focus on customer service and the customer experience, with an enthusiastic attention to detail and high standards. There is clearly a real commitment to staff training.Extract from Trip Advisor,
"Superb food. Epic meal"
Every course was a delight. Innovative and delicious dishes from the talented chef. Well deserves his Michelin star. The loin of lamb was amongst the best I have ever tasted. Excellent and varied wine line list, helpful and efficient service. Bravo.Extract from Trip Advisor,
"Exceeding all expectations!"
We wanted a quiet place with excellent food and beautiful surroundings. Driftwood had all of these in abundance. The staff, room, location and outstanding service exceeded our expectations. The one meal we had ( we only stayed two nights - needed longer) was simply one of the best we've ever experienced.Extract from Trip Advisor,
"A delightful place to stay in a unique location"
The family-run Hotel does exude personal service. It is delightfully positioned with sea views from almost everywhere. The attractive grounds harbour several terraces with private seats looking over the sea. The hotel has a virtually private beach.Extract from Trip Advisor,
Just returned from seven nights at Driftwood, it was simply perfect, stylish room, sublime view, every amenity you could think of, wonderfully, helpful and courteous staff, couldn't ask for more. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.Extract from Trip Advisor,
Visited in September and were very pleased that the standard of the Driftwood has not fallen. Fab location. Fab food and the most amazing views. So relaxing. Thank you to all concerned for making our stays so enjoyable.Extract from Trip Advisor,
"Lovely location and great staff"
The hotel is superbly located overlooking the sea and has some quite dramatic views. Once you’ve wound your way through some of the pretty villages of Cornwall and arrive at the hotel you find it at the end of a small lane and it consists of a dozen or so rooms. Upon arrival we were greeted by both owner and a senior member of staff who treated us like long lost friends with a warm welcome...
In conclusion I would say that I would defiantly recommend Driftwood to anybody that is looking for a hotel in the area and I would compliment both the owners and the staff always having a smile on their face and having a will do attitude. One final comment a nice touch is the coffee they deliver to your room (outside) at an agreed time each day that is complimentary so that you can have coffee in bed before you go for your breakfast.Extract from Trip Advisor,
"Another splendid visit"
Despite the poor weather the welcome we received at the Driftwood was as usual warm and friendly. Having stayed on a number of other occasions this was the first time that we had sampled the five course tasting menu. Chris and his team conjured up the most exquisite morsels of flavour, each course was a delight. We also appreciated the opportunity to have a light bite on one evening, we chose the sharing platter of charcuterie and baked cheese, which we enjoyed in the cosy lounge with the fire burning brightly while a storm raged around outside. This was a welcome change from the more complex dishes served on the other evenings and just as beautifully served with tasty side dishes.Extract from Trip Advisor,
The wonderful weather we had certainly helped and the high point was the food which I’ll review separately but even without those we would have loved The Driftwood. Beds were huge and comfortable, a mistake on the bill was corrected without debate, breakfast was beautiful and all the staff were excellent. We will definitely return.Extract from Trip Advisor,
This is our third trip to the Driftwood Hotel and again we had the perfect stay. Thank you Guy for your attention to detail at Dinner. The Michelin star restaurant is without doubt the star of the show. Faultless! Thank you.Extract from Trip Advisor,
"Our first visit - but we will be coming back!"
We booked a short stay here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Friends had recommended Driftwood based on the location and quality of the food. Both exceeded our expectations. Even on a drizzly December day the view from our room was stunning and the hotel at this time of year was so peaceful. I honestly cannot fault anything. The room was spacious, well appointed and quiet. This hotel is outstanding for three main reasons in my opinion: food; staff and location. I could ramble on and extol the virtues of each category but suffice to say we will be happily hoping to return in 2019 for another short stay.Extract from Trip Advisor,
