We are delighted to announce that we have received a coveted César award from the Good Hotel Guide for Cornish Hotel of the Year. The Good Hotel is one of the few independent guides in the UK and our thanks to all its followers and contributors.

Whilst we cook for our guests and not the Guides, it is always nice to be recognised. We are delighted that we have maintained our reputation with the Good Food Guide 2010 and our thanks to all those readers who have contributed to the Guide.

DRIFTWOOD AWARDED THIRD ROSETTE
We are delighted to announce that the AA has reconfirmed the third rosette for driftwood under 29-year old chef Chris Eden. Chris joined in September 2006 taking over from Rory Duncan. Before joining driftwood, locally-born Christopher worked under Michelin starred luminaries such as Philip Howard at The Square, and Robert Reid at The Oak Room (Marco Pierre White).

The AA awards three rosettes only to “outstanding restaurants demanding recognition well beyond the local area”.

The 2010 AA Hotel Guide praises driftwood’s “professional standards of service…provided in a effortless and relaxed manner”. The Hotel Guide also gives driftwood three red stars and names the hotel as “Inspectors’ Choice”. This award “recognises the very best hotels in Britain and Ireland. These hotels offer consistently outstanding levels of quality, comfort, cleanliness and customer care.”
