DRIFTWOOD AWARDED THIRD ROSETTE
We are delighted to announce that the AA has reconfirmed the third rosette for driftwood under 29-year old chef Chris Eden. Chris joined in September 2006 taking over from Rory Duncan. Before joining driftwood, locally-born Christopher worked under Michelin starred luminaries such as Philip Howard at The Square, and Robert Reid at The Oak Room (Marco Pierre White).
The AA awards three rosettes only to “outstanding restaurants demanding recognition well beyond the local area”.
Chris and his team also receive praise for using seasonal menus in the 2008 Good Food Guide and rating the driftwood as one of the top restaurants in Cornwall.
Driftwood has a very nice write up in the 2008 Good Hotel Guide, which praises the hotel for its service, food atmosphere and friendliness.
The 2008 AA Hotel Guide praises driftwood’s “professional standards of service…provided in a effortless and relaxed manner”. The Hotel Guide also gives driftwood three red stars and names the hotel as “Inspectors’ Choice”. This award “recognises the very best hotels in Britain and Ireland. These hotels offer consistently outstanding levels of quality, comfort, cleanliness and customer care.”
